First look of “Load Wedding” unveiled

Fahad Mustafa and Mehwish Hayat share an amazing chemistry together. The teaser gives some real Desi Vibes. Momina and Duraid Films and HUM Films unveiled the theatrical poster of the much-anticipated movie of the year Parwaaz Hai Junoon at The Arena Cinema, Bahria Town Islamabad. Present at the event were two of the main leads of the film Hamza Ali Abbasi and Hania Amir, producer of the film Momina Duraid, director Haseeb Hasan, President HUM Network Ltd. Sultana Siddiqui, CEO HUM Network Duraid Qureshi and other dignitaries.
After releasing five character-posters of the movie earlier, expectations were high for the first official poster and first glance at the poster makes one fall in love with it. The poster features Hamza Ali Abbasi, Hania Amir, Ahad Raza Mir and Shaz Khan, and with facial expressions of the cast, the vast skies, brilliant lighting effects and the fighter jet in the background - Parwaaz Hai Junoon promises to be an intriguing tale of cadets and their flights to success.

Hamza Ali Abbasi, in a never seen before avatar breathes life into his portrayal of a cadet, whilst Ahad Raza Mir oozes an intensity which is in line with his disposition. Leading lady Hania Aamir, with a sparkle in her eyes plays a one-of-kind female character for Pakistani cinema, celebrating the equality embedded in the Pakistani Air Force, whereas critically acclaimed actor, Shaz Khan returns to the silver screen with yet another meaningful character.

Following the anticipation that the theatrical poster has created, the cast and crew of the movie announced that the theatrical trailer of the action flick will be released on July 6, 2018, so buckle up and get ready for a roller-coaster ride of thrill, speed, vast skies and fighter jets!

Written by the legendary Farhat ishtiaq, Parwaaz Hai Junoon is directed by Haseeb Hasan and produced by Momina and Duraid Films. The movie will be released worldwide on Eid-ul-Azha under the banner of HUM Films.

Emirates announces one-off A380 service into Pakistan

Emirates, the world’s largest international airline, announced today that it will deploy a one-off A380 service to Islamabad on 8 July 2018. The airline’s iconic double-decker will make its inaugural arrival in Islamabad on a special flight EK2524/EK2525.

The A380 flight will depart Dubai on 8 July 2018 at 0800hrs and arrive in Islamabad at 1210hrs. The flight will depart Islamabad at 1540hrs arriving in Dubai at 1745hrs on the same day.
“We are proud to bring our flagship A380 aircraft to Islamabad, and we look forward to showcasing our innovative products on-board this iconic aircraft with the signature Emirates service. While this is a special flight, we are very keen to launch a scheduled A380 service to Pakistan and will continue to work with authorities to realise these plans,” said Sheikh Majid Al Mualla, Divisional Senior Vice President Commercial Operations Centre, Emirates.
The Emirates A380 aircraft on this special one-off service will be in a two-class configuration offering spacious seats in Economy Class and fully flat-bed seats in Business Class as well as Emirates’ popular Onboard Lounge. Passengers in all classes enjoy free Wi-Fi to stay in touch with family and friends and Emirates’ multi-award winning ‘ice’ inflight entertainment with up to 3,500 channels of movies, TV programmes, music and podcasts on the industry’s biggest personal screens in each class of travel.

Emirates and Pakistan have a shared history tracing back over 30 years when the airline’s flight landed in Karachi on 25 October 1985. In the last three decades, Emirates has progressively expanded its operations and offering global connectivity and world-class services to Pakistan’s major cities including Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, Sialkot and Multan.

Emirates makes history with one-off A380 touchdown in Islamabad By: Khurram Zia Khan

The Emirates A380 touched down in Islamabad today for a historic one-off service to Islamabad International Airport. This was the first time ever that the iconic double-decker aircraft has landed in Pakistan. The landing demonstrated the airport’s readiness to accommodate the A380, the world’s largest commercial passenger jet.

Upon landing at 1210hrs at Islamabad International Airport, the aircraft was met with a ceremonial water cannon salute, and the Emirates delegation was welcomed by government officials and Islamabad International Airport executives.  After a welcoming ceremony, government officials, VIPs, media and members of the travel industry were given a guided tour of the A380 by Emirates cabin crew.


The special Emirates A380 flight was operated by UAE national, Capt Abbas Shaban, Chief Pilot of Technical Operations and Pakistani national, First Officer Qadir Moin.

Also travelling on the flight as special guests were two Pakistani members of Emirates’ first ever team, Captain Fazle Ghani, the airline’s first Chief Pilot and Team Lead for Inaugural Operations and Captain Ejaz ul Haq, one of the pilots who operated the first ever Emirates flights from Dubai 33 years ago.

The Emirates A380 is fundamental to our overall strategy, and bringing this popular aircraft to Islamabad represents a significant milestone in our operations to Pakistan, a country we flew our first ever flight to in 1985. We are very keen to now launch a scheduled A380 service to Pakistan and will continue to work with authorities to make these plans a reality.”

Emirates and Pakistan have a long-standing relationship that spans over 30 years, when the airline’s first flight flew from Dubai to Karachi on 25 October 1985. Since then, Emirates has grown exponentially in Pakistan, and today the airline operates 71 weekly flights between Dubai and six cities in Pakistan: Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, Sialkot and Multan, offering Pakistani travellers convenient access to over 150 global destinations. Emirates also employs over 5,000 Pakistani nationals as Flight Deck crew, Cabin Crew and in various others positions across the airline.
Hundreds of passengers travelled on the special flight, many of whom had made their bookings specially for this unique flight. The passengers on board began their journeys from 25 countries reflecting Emirates’ global mix of customers who will benefit from this route.

Momina and Duraid Films and HUM Films launched the trailer of the much-anticipated film of the year, Parwaaz Hai Junoon at Nueplex Cinema here in the metropolis. 

The trailer launch ceremony was a star-studded affair and in attendance were the crème de la crème of Pakistan’s entertainment industry, including the star cast of the film, Hamza Ali Abbasi, Hania Amir, Ahad Raza Mir, Shafaat Ali Khan, Marina Khan, Hina Bayat, Asif Raza Mir, producer Momina Duraid, director Haseeb Hasan, writer Farhat Ishtiaq, Azaan Sami Khan, Adnan Jaffer, Director Media Affairs PAF Air Commodore Ali, president HUM Network Ltd Sultana Siddiqui, CEO HUM Network Ltd Duraid Qureshi and others.

The event was abuzz with stars and media personalities and the much-anticipated trailer was screened amidst thunderous applause by the attendees. The trailer of PHJ contains all the elements of a superhit film. From the strikingly handsome star-cast to brilliant acting, soothing music, immaculate direction and a perfect blend of action, thrill, romance, patriotism, mind-boggling visuals and fighter jets, the trailer of PHJ definitely ticks all the boxes and leaves one wanting more. Parwaaz Hai Junoon is a tribute to the brave sons of the soil who guard our skies and long for “Shahadat” with pride in the line of duty. 

The trailer also served as a teaser to the soothing music of the film. “Nachay Ray” sung by Jabir and Zeb Bangash made the audiences wanting to dance to its tune, while the melodious Atif Aslam made everyone “thaam lo” their hearts. Music of the film is exceptional and is composed by the very talented Azaan Sami Khan who will be making his debut as a music composer for Parwaaz Hai Junoon. Azaan’s knack for music and his brilliant composition will make you look forward to the movie even more. 
Speaking about the film, Farhat Ishtiaq said, “I have written this story with great passion and have high expectations from the film. The whole crew has worked very hard to bring the story to life and I am sure the audiences will enjoy every bit of it.”

Facebook protecting Pakistan's elections from abuse

Facebook is increasing the number of people working on safety and security issues around the world to 20,000 people by the end of the year, as it employed dedicated teams working on all of the world's upcoming elections – including Pakistan – to help detect and prevent malicious actors or abuse on Facebook.

Ahead of Pakistan's elections, Facebook has ramped up its efforts to ensure they doing everything they can to prevent abuse, working in collaboration with the Election Commission of Pakistan to better understand and address the specific challenges faced here.

Facebook has incredible potential to be a positive force for democracy around the world. Facebook gives a voice to people of all ages and political beliefs, it encourages debate and the healthy exchange of ideas, and it makes leaders more accountable to their constituents.

There are people who want to abuse the platform to harm the democratic process. This is something Facebook is absolutely committed to preventing, and is taking a number of steps to protect and preserve the integrity of the upcoming elections around the world. Pakistan is no exception.
Here is a look at the specific steps Facebook has taken in Pakistan ahead of the July 25th election.

We know that people want to see accurate information on Facebook – and so do we.
We also know that misinformation is harmful to our community and makes the world less informed, particularly in the context of elections. We can't combat false news alone - we believe it requires a concerted effort across industry, academics, civil society and government, but we are absolutely committed to playing our part. 

That's why we are working hard to fight the spread of false news on Facebook through a combination of technology and human review, and through arming our community with ability to recognise what might be false. Our efforts are focused on the following key areas:


Third-party fact-checking: As of this week, we will begin a pilot of our Third Party Fact Checking to our community in Pakistan, in partnership with AFP. Third Party Fact Checking is one of the ways we are fighting misinformation and our partners are well-respected fact-checkers who have been certified by Poynter's non-partisan International Fact-Checking Network. Here’s how we work with our fact-checking partners, using a combination of technology and human review to detect and demote false news on Facebook:

We use signals, including feedback from people on Facebook and clickbait sensationalist headlines, to predict potentially false stories for fact-checkers like AFP to review.

When fact-checkers rate a story as false, we significantly reduce its distribution in News Feed — dropping future views on average by more than 80%. Pages and domains that repeatedly share false news will also see their distribution reduced and their ability to monetize and advertise removed.
We also want to empower people to decide for themselves what to read, trust, and share. When third-party fact-checkers write articles about the accuracy of a news story, we show these articles in Related Articles immediately below the story in News Feed. We also send people and Page Admins notifications if they try to share a story or have shared one in the past that's been determined to be false.

We want to empower people to decide for themselves what to read, trust, and share, and we do this by promoting news literacy and providing people with more context. In Pakistan, we've partnered with Media Matters for Democracy and EngagePakistan to develop and distribute localized versions of our false news tips in Pakistan, with the aim of helping our community here learn how to recognise and avoid false news and misinformation. This week, we will be posting a Public Service Announcement at the top of News Feed - visible to our entire Facebook community in Pakistan - with a link to these false news tips.

Fake accounts can be a major distributor of harmful and misleading content, and we work hard to keep them off the platform. We block millions of fake accounts at registration every day, and we continuously build and update our technical systems to make it easier to respond to reports of abuse, detect and remove spam, identify and eliminate fake accounts, and prevent accounts from being compromised. We’ve made recent improvements to recognize these inauthentic accounts more easily by identifying patterns of activity — without assessing account contents themselves. For example, our systems may detect repeated posting of the same content, or aberrations in the volume of content creation. In Q1 of this year, we removed nearly 6 million fake accounts globally, 98.5% of which we detected before anyone reported them to us.







We recognize the importance of working closely with local authorities to encourage civic participation in local elections. We have been working proactively with Election Commission of Pakistan to help support their effort to maintain the integrity of the election. Facebook has helped educate Election Commission officials on how our platform works with the goal of increasing transparency, improving security, and promoting civic engagement. We are also exploring new ways of working with the Election Commission of Pakistan to share a reminder about the ECP's 8300 Voter SMS service, which is designed to give Pakistanis easy access to their voter record and polling station.

Preventing the spread of false news is a critical part of ensuring the integrity of our elections and we hope that, through this collaboration, we will make a positive step towards equipping Pakistanis with the tools they need to discern fact from fiction.”

Protecting elections from abuse on our platform is one of the most important things we're working on at Facebook at the moment. We know there's more to do, and we will continue to work hard to ensure that Facebook can play a positive and constructive role in Pakistan's democratic process, both in 2018 and in the long-term.

We’re taking significant steps to bring more transparency to ads and Pages on Facebook. Anyone can now view active ads from Pages on Facebook. 

The feature will allow our community in Pakistan - and around the world - to see ads across Facebook, Instagram, Messenger and our partner network, even if those ads aren't shown to you. People can also learn more about Pages, even if they don't advertise. For example, you can see any recent name changes and the date the Page was created.

We require our community on Facebook to respect our Community Standards, and we hold advertisers to even stricter guidelines. We use both automated and human review, and we’re taking aggressive steps to strengthen both. Reviewing ads means assessing not just the ad's content, but the context in which it was bought and the intended audience, and we’re changing our ads review system to pay more attention to these signals. Stalwart of Pakistan Cricket Imran Khan formed his political party way back in 1996. I still remember that Zee News, a channel of India broke this news and everyone got excited of Imran Khan launching a political party.

Imran Khan named his party Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf (PTI) with the sole purpose of providing justice to the deprived and underprivileged people of Pakistan.

Imran Khan is the first person who talked openly about the flaws in country’s judicial system and may be the only person who entered the politics without being part of any dictator’s government.
Imran Khan has a vision to improve the living standard of the people of Pakistan and to give them access to basic amenities like health, education, clean drinking water and a judicial system that will give quick justice to people from all strata of the society.

Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tekreek-E-Insaf has so far participated in general elections three times. They won no seat in 1997 and won only 1 seat in 2002 general elections. They boycott the 2008 general elections but able to gain 28 seats in national assembly in 2013 general elections and also secured 7.7 million votes.

Prior to 2013 general elections, PTI conducted a huge Jalsa in Lahore on October 30, 2011 and followed it up with another massive gathering at Quaid’s Mausoleum on 25th December 2011.

These two jalsas and many more political gatherings raised hope that PTI will win 2013 general elections but unfortunately that did not happen. Although these Jalsas have given electable another platform to run their politics. Political enthusiasts like Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Javed Hashmi, Sardar Asif Ahmed Ali and many others joined PTI after these Jalsas to revive their sliding political career and contested in general elections on PTI’s ticket.

PTI secured 7.7 million votes for national assembly seats in general elections 2013, which is approximately 0.8 million more than PPP, the party that scored 2nd  position in 2013 General Elections. 

In the elections of 2013, this party won enough seats to form a coalition government in Khyber Pakhtunkhawa. Considering the dilapidated condition in which the Khyber Pakhtunkhawa province was in, when it was handed over to PTI, I think the overall performance of PTI government is satisfactory. This is one provincial government which is focusing on human development instead of building mega projects. They have improved the police system of the province and the natives of this province are satisfied of the reforms carried out in health and education sector. 

The billion tree tsunami project of PTI government, a one of its kind initiative received international recognition and is one of the great accomplishments of this political party.

However irrespective of the performance of PTI government, I am dissatisfied with the choice of Pervez khattak as Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhawa. Pervez Khattak has landed in PTI after being affiliated with ANP, PPP and other parties. In my view a genuine PTI member someone like Asad Qaiser who started his politics from PTI would’ve been a better choice for this position. The Ex-Chief Minister left his party in hot waters when he failed to complete the Peshawar BTS project on schedule and now opponents are using this failure to highlight the inefficiency of PTI. 

Coming to general elections 2018, few months before elections, plethora of electable join PTI with the hope of reviving their politics and PTI accepted these electable in its fold with the hope of winning general elections 2018.


Victory in elections and forming a government is a dream for any party but I am of the view that PTI will be better served if they lose the election instead of winning the same with these electables.

These electables are powerful landlords and businessmen. They are the same people who violate laws by not paying their taxes or by creating hindrance in improving the health and education facilities in their localities.

The electables belonging to rural areas prefer to stay in major cities. We in Karachi on daily basis witness that all or majority of MNAs and MPA who won seat from interior Sindh spend most of their days and nights in Karachi and rarely visit their constituency.

In his talk with protestors outside his residence in Bani Gala few weeks ago, Imran Khan highlighted the importance of awarding tickets to electables and, I totally disagree with what he said.  Imran Khan said that he awarded tickets to many electables because PTI is a political party that want to win elections. I think in elections or any other contest, victory is important but one cannot compromise principals for the sake of attaining victory. 

PTI in five years after 2013 elections, failed to strengthen or increase its vote bank instead they lost their voters at many places. Karachi is a case in point where PTI obtained more than 0.5 million votes in 2013 and surprise everyone with their performance. Had PTI worked with dedication in this city, restructure its party on grass root level, it may easily sweep Karachi in the face of crisis faced by MQM these days. Failure of PTI to strengthen its vote bank in Karachi forced it to rely on popular faces and this scenario put the loyal and enthusiastic candidates on the back burner.

Unsatisfactory performance of Arif Alvi and Shafqat Mehmood, the sole representatives of their party from Karachi and Lahore respectively impacted PTI severely in these cities. 

Imran Khan presented an aggressive 100 days agenda. He also intended to revamp Federal Board of Revenue and other government institutions. I am sure that many feudal and big businessmen have joined PTI only for the sake of reaching the assemblies and these members will prove to be a biggest obstacle for Imran Khan and PTI in the implementation of their plans.

Elections 2018 are now just few days away. In this scenario, I am not concerned if PTI wins or loses but instead sad about the fact that a change maker instead of changing the system for the betterment, has become a part of the same system, against which once he raised the torch and started swimming with the flow instead of going against the tide.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is the fastest emerging political party of Pakistan. A political party which working on a mission to make our country Pakistan better. PTI enjoys unprecedented support of youth. It is encouraging to know that PTI has highest number of educated people on board. Not only they are highly qualified but they have proved themselves in their respective fields.

These young candidates of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf did not get the deserved attention as everyone was focused on the tickets awarded to electables by PTI.

An example of this lack of attention is Dr Imran Ali Shah, a person who made a contribution towards his country Pakistan even before he joined the Pakistan Tehreek - e- Insaf. Dr. Imran Ali Shah is the son of famous Orthopedic Surgeon Syed Muhammad Ali Shah who have established a hospital by the name of A.O Clinic, Institute of Trauma and Orthopedics. Dr. Muhammad Ali Shah was a member of Mutaihada Qaumi Movement and became sports minister of Sindh in 2008.
 In the current care taker government of Sindh, Dr. Junaid Ali Shah, elder brother of Imran Ali Shah is serving as a sports Minister.

This is high time that public come forward to support such educated people for the betterment of the society and country.

Hareem Farooq Is Set To Rock Canada with the Hum Awards

Multitalented Hareem Farooq, is once again set to rock Canada, after a recent meeting with the Canadian Prime Minister “Justin Trudeau”, as the gorgeous actress & producer will not only be taking the stage as the official host of the HUM Awards 2018 happening on 28th July, 2018, but will also be performing for the first time on an award show.

Hareem Farooq, for the first time in her career, will be performing in an awards show; taking the super-hit number ‘Billo Hai’ from 2018’s first blockbuster Pakistani film, Parchi - which she acted in and produced. Farooq has earlier performed on the same number, with Ali Rehman Khan, at the opening ceremony of T10 League in Sharjah, UAE in Dec 2017.

Not new to hosting game, this is the second consecutive year that Hareem Farooq will be hosting Hum Awards, as she was also a host for the event in 2017. While earlier this year, Farooq became the first female celebrity to host the opening ceremony of the Pakistan Super League in Dubai.

Karachi, following the success of the release of Parwaaz Hai Junoon’s trailer  trending on Twitter and Instagram, reaching more than 1 million views on YouTube, the film’s first song, ‘Bhulleya’ was released worldwide, winning the hearts of the people and being dubbed as a song that makes one want to travel up north! Now the team has released its second song "Thaam Lo", a sung by none other than Atif Aslam.  After much anticipation the song has finally been released, and has already capture the minds and audience.
 A  song composed under the supervision of director-turned composer Azaan Sami Khan, ’Thaam Lo’ is a love song, that tugs at our heart strings, and serenades us into falling in love with the films characters. Atif Aslam, the King of love songs, talks about making promises without having to say anything, along with the trust and security in a relationship.

 The song features Hania Amir and Hamza Ali Abbasi. Two of Pakistan's most popular heart sweets are shown falling in love finding each other and the song itself has a bitter sweet theme to it, making the audience wonder what will happen to our beloved characters!
