Sri Lanka’s skipper Angelo Mathews played a grand innings against England but fitness problem and lack of support from other hand deprived Sri Lanka from a memorable victory at Feroz Shah Kotla.
Sri Lanka was down and out when England reduced them to 15 for 4 in the fourth over but Angelo Mathews had other ideas. Mathews started resurrecting Sri Lanka in partnership of Kapugedra and then in partnership of Perera and Shanka took his team to brink of victory. Falling wickets at the other end and fitness problems of Mathews deprived Sri Lanka of a gallant comeback victory.
